Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, after completing customs and immigration formalities, you will be met by a Gemsbok Safaris representative and transferred to Rivertrees Country Inn for check-in and overnight.

Once an old coffee estate, Rivertrees is now a charming country inn nestled in abundant foliage with the Usa River flowing by. Set in the foothills of Mt Meru, conveniently close to Kilimanjaro International Airport and a short drive to Arusha, its location proffers a wealth of natural wonders to explore. Comprising the original Farm House, an elegant River House, luxurious River Cottages and several beautifully appointed Garden Rooms, it also serves delicious garden-fresh cuisine in its stunningly set restaurant. The swimming pool and spa are tailored for relaxation, and friendly personalised service ensures a memorable stay.

Breakfast at the lodge. Depart to Lake Manyara National Park for a game viewing drive including lunch at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge.

Lake Manyara is a shallow alkaline lake, the north-west of which is protected by the Lake Manyara National Park. Much of the 330km² park is taken up by the lake, but one of the many surprises in store for visitors is the remarkably wide diversity of terrestrial habitats – forest, wetland, floodplain, acacia woodland – which in turn supports an equally impressive variety of wildlife. Lake Manyara is rich in birdlife: nearly 400 species have been recorded here and it’s an excellent and easily accessible introduction to the birds of East Africa.

Later in the afternoon, drive to Manyara Secrets for dinner and overnight. Manyara’s Secret is located in Mto wa Mbu with views of Lake Manyara. The lodge features comfortably furnished villas equipped with modern amenities, including a terrace, a plunge pool and a private shower, with an a la carte restaurant, room service, a bar, Wi-Fi and parking.

Breakfast at the lodge. You will depart with picnic lunch boxes to Serengeti National Park and enjoy a game-viewing drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at TNS Kimarishe Serengeti Lodge.

Full day spent exploring the extensive plains of the Serengeti in search of the ‘Big 5’. If you would like to maximize your time game viewing you can take a picnic lunch out into the park and enjoy a meal out in the vast savannah before returning to your lodge later in the day.

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend to the crater floor for a crater tour of the largest intact, unflooded caldera in the world. A picnic lunch is provided so you can maximize your day in the crater. Drive to Ngorongoro Farm House for dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge is situated beneath the majestic Oldeani Volcano, and boasts easy access to both the untamed wilderness of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the simple pleasure of a ramble through 500 acres of farmland. Inaugurated on 20th February 2003, it offers 52 room cottages – 49 standard rooms and 3 suites – all with ample space inside, built in the style of an old colonial farm and rustically decorated with local materials.

Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for Tarangire National Park for a game viewing drive including lunch at Tarangire Safari Lodge.

Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire river that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. During the dry season thousands of animals migrate to Tarangire National Park from Manyara. The landscape and vegetation are incredibly diverse, with a mix not found anywhere else in the northern safari circuit. The hilly landscape is dotted with vast numbers of Baobab trees, dense bush and high grasses.

After lunch, head out for an afternoon game viewing drive in the park. Later, you will be transferred to Tarangire Kuro Treetops Lodge for dinner and overnight — Ole Serai Luxury Camp – Kuro, nestled atop an elevated kopje hill overlooking the Tarangire River and the Silale valley, with 25 tree-top style tents, each with luxury bedding, an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower and a private veranda.

Depart for Arusha after breakfast. Enjoy lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward travel arrangements. End of safari!
